Welcome to Sunny Orchards...

Well,
I knew it would happen at some point, I just wanted to deny it.  But now, with a broken hip and a stab wound, it seems inevitable.  Rebecca has decided to get me a room at Sunny Orchards Assisted Living Center.  This is where I will rehab, and there will be doctors on call and nurses to help me with my daily routine.  Here is my new 'home':

I don't really want to live here but I haven't much of a choice.  Some of the folks here seem nice, and I get to spend time with my old neighbor, Mrs. Benderidice.  It's been good to catch up with her.

Since they dont allow pets here, I've chosen to give Tootsie to Danny, so long as he promises to take good care of him, keep out of trouble, and visit me once a week with Tootsie in the courtyard.  Danny has kindly given me his old laptop and set me up with an email list of the family so I can stay in touch with everyone and keep blogging.  What a sweetheart.  He says he will visit me tomorrow after school.  I wish I could keep Tootsie, but giving him to Danny feels like the right thing to do.  Tootsie can keep Danny company, just as he kept me company for all those years.  He's a member of the family, just living in a different house now.

Rebecca has heeded my advice and helped Danny clean his room up after having kept tootsie in there for months.  Danny returned the favor by helping his mother do some yardwork.  Rebecca says it's difficult as a single mother, but she is beginning to realize the value of leaving work a little earlier to spend time with Danny, her only son.

And I'm here, getting better day by day, blogging and learning more computer skills.  Danny sends me pictures of him and Tootsie and shows me when he cleans his room.  I have to go for now, it's time for dinner in the cafeteria.  Tonight there will be a band playing some golden oldies and I'll play bingo with Mrs. Benderidice.  I guess that's just how it goes...

Signing off,

My "trip" to the park

Well, I'm not quit sure where to start.  I guess I'll start from the beginning...

I went to the bank, withdrew the $400 dollars and had that wad of cash in my left pocket, pocket knife in the other.  I was teeming with excitement as I pulled into the parking lot, I practically jumped out of my car and was nearly running toward the bench to wait for the mysterious person I was meeting.  My high hopes instantly came crashing down to the earth with my body as I tripped over a root and fell into an excruciating pit of despair as my husband's pocket knife lodged itself deeply in my thigh and my hip shattered on a jagged rock.  Oh I haven't felt such pain since my husband passed and Tootsie vanished, except this time I was faced with more painful circumstances: I may never find Tootsie, and there I lay, unable to move or call for help, choking down the fact that Rebecca would use this incident against me in her argument for locking me up in an assisted living facility.  Life has never looked darker.

Then out of nowhere, a beam of sunshine illuminated my Tootsie, running full speed towards me.  Oh what a sight! He was followed by..... Danny, running to my aid.  Oh I was surprised to see that boy, confused too.  Danny broke down began to cry while kneeling next to me.  "Grandma! Are you alright? What happened? Oh God, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." He wailed as he hugged me.  "I had tootsie the whole time! I'm sorry I just needed a friend and now...now you're hurt and you're bleeding!"

He ran to his car and lifted me in the passengers seat and rushed me to the hospital. Tootsie was on the floor laying on my feet.  This was the first time I was glad he had such a fast car...I was wailing in pain, bleeding all over his upholstery and he confessed everything to me on that ride.  How he had stolen Tootsie in hopes for attention from his mother or myself, how he kept tootsie caged in his room and lived with the smell of his feces, how he felt lost ever since his father left and his grandfather died, how he needed $400 to get himself out of a drug deal gone wrong, how his mother neve spends time with him, how deeply sorry he was because he felt that the pocket knife in my thigh was his fault.

When we arrived at the hospital he ran in and nurses came out with a stretcher to bring me into the emergency room.  They put me under sedation, and here I sit, with my ass hanging out of this gown, my leg in a cast, hooked up to an IV.  Rebecca is coming to visit this evening after work and I'm just dreading that conversation.  Danny left me his laptop, so I could still blog and he could Gchat with me.

Danny asked me not to tell his mother what he told me, but I have to.  I was wrong about that boy, I'm ashamed to say that Rebecca has not been doing her job as a mother and needs to rethink her priorities.

I did give Danny the $400 and told him never to do drugs again...we'll see how that goes, but I won't tell his mother about that bit.  He took Tootsie home to care for him while I'm in the hospital, I gave him an extra $50 to buy him some proper dog food and a leash so he could walk him.

Well.. I'm feeling tired after such an eventful afternoon and I need my rest before Rebecca arrives.

Until next time...

Taking back what's MINE

So I emailed th3cr34t0r@gmail.com back and told them I couldn't read their gibberish writing and demanded that they tell me what I need to do to get my Tootsie back. They said to meet them in Paleo Park in an hour and bring $400...

That is a lot of money but I need my Tony back! I will go to the Bank and pull from my savings and drive to the park...I'm bringing my husband's old pocket knife to protect myself.

I'll show you who can be independent Rebecca!  I don't need your help, or your nurses, or your nursing homes!!

I'm going to the park now, I'll update you when I return with my Tootsie!

Tootsie!

I just recieved a mysterious email from this address: th3cr34t0r@gmail.com.

I'm not exaclty sure what it says It looks like some jibberish code but I think this person may have my Tina, my love, the apple of my eye.

It might be dangerous though, I will bring a knife.

LOCK ME UP?! NEVER!

Hello readers,

So all in all, having dinner at Rebecca's was a terrible event.  Her monicotti  was a delicious (so proud I raised a good cook) and it was nice to see Danny, even if he only came out of his room for a few minutes to eat and run...Then things went downhill.

Rebecca and I were having a nice conversation until dessert when she started accusing me of going senile!  To this I took much offense and we burst into an argument about whether or not I am capable of living alone.  She say's she's worried about me, especially after reading my blog.  She said that I "seem to be confusing what type of pet I have, and what shows I'm watching."  "Losing my grip on reality," she said.  WELL, REBECCA, I AM YOUR MOTHER AND YOU WON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!  I am absolutely certain that Trina is a cat and I miss her very much!  And as far as who's worried about whom, I am concerned with your lack of parenting skills.  Just LOOK at the door to Danny's bedroom:

That looks like the door of a disturbed child. A neglected child. A misled child.  And the smell, OH GOD the SMELL.  It smelt like low-tide and manure emanating from that boy's room, it was almost unbearable being in that wing of the house...

Rebecca,  you ought to figure out what to do with your immediate family before you try to stick me in a nursing home!

Sightings! Maybe...

So I just got back from a walk and I swear I keep seeing Terry around every corner.  On this walk I thought I saw him a number of times hiding in trees.  I called and called for him but he didn't come.  I snapped these pictures with my iPhone so that, once I enlarge them on my personal computer, I can check to see if it was really Toto or not.  Turns out the first two weren't him....I'm still not sure about the last one though...

Has anyone seen him??????????????  I'm going to Rebecca's house for dinner tonight to talk strategy about how to find Toto.

We're going to have Fettucini Alfredo yum! I'm excited and I feel like with all the searching I'm doing, I'll definitely find my lost cat!

I'm off to go search the neighborhood again.

Homeward Bound!

I've been watching more and more episodes of Homeward Bound! I absolutely love that movie!  Sometimes it can be so sad, but it is mostly uplifting.   I love to see the dogs that have been taken from their homes be reunited with their original owner. I'm not sure how all his dogs ran away though? But what a brave man going around the world to bring all his furry family members Homeward with him.  Here is a beautiful moment from the movie show...

Don't they both look so happy?!  One day that will be me!!! My dog Toto and I will be reunited and happy as can be! Just like this...

That was such a nice time when Teensie and I went to the lake in Chicago.  We had to wear out coats and scarves though because it was sooo cold that winter.  Not much of a beach day I suppose!

Well, I better get going. I have some laundry boiling...
